ON the back of stellar WNBL seasons, Dandenong Rangers guards Jenna O’Hea and Leilani Mitchell were awarded membership of the WNBL 2013/14 All Star Five.
For O’Hea it is her fourth selection in the All Star Five in five years and statistically her best season on record, averaging 20.2 points, six rebounds and 4.4 assists per match.
The deadeye O’Hea has also struck a 41.8 per cent three-point ratio and is 46.5 per cent from the field.
O’Hea’s recent form is phenomenal with a 32-point match against the Melbourne Boomers on Friday night almost dragging Dandenong to victory on the back of 8-11 from the three-point line.
In her first season as an Australian player, Mitchell has starred carrying the ball up the court for the Rangers.
Mitchell has also pledged her will to play for Australia at the upcoming FIBA World Championships and was invited to the Australian Opals training camp in Canberra.
Mitchell’s WNBL debut numbers include 12.5 points, 5.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds a game with a best return of 27 points and nine assists against Sydney.
Dandenong coach Mark Wright said the pair have been excellent all season and are extremely deserving winners of the accolades.
“Fantastic and they deserve it and they’ve done a great job,” Wright said.
“Consistency should win those awards and they have consistently done a good job and I think they deserve it, especially Jenna.
“She (O’Hea) has been a flat line, every week hitting 20 points so it’s well deserved.”
