Eastern Football League – round 2

DESPITE putting their wayward kicking boots on Saturday morning, Noble Park still managed to slot the occasional goal to brutalise Lilydale.
With coach Jon Knight securing his first win as Bulls’ head coach, Noble Park will only wonder what could have been for its percentage following a 15.21 (111) to 8.6 (54) win over the Falcons.
Back-to-back quarters of four goals, seven behinds, would not have pleased the coach, but Noble Park kept to its guns to straighten up marginally in the second half.
Lilydale had no means to stop Noble Park’s numerous avenues to goal as Peter McGettigan, Luke Mann, Brett Dore, Brendan Gillen and Clay McCartney all slotted a brace apiece among 10 goal-kickers.
Dore and Glen Manson controlled the rucks all day with little opportunity for the Lilydale midfielders underneath their own ruck stocks.
Sam Monaghan had the ball on a string through the midfield, while Chris Horton-Milne, Craig Anderson and Robert Kemperman all excelled in the crucial moments of the match.
Sitting mid-table in sixth place, Noble Park heads to Norwood after the Easter break for its round three clash on 26 April.
