POLICE say they have raided the Bandidos bikie gang’s Brunswick clubhouse this morning as part of an investigation into the suspicious death of a Dandenong man.
Homicide Squad detectives say Michael Strike had arrived in Brunswick about 4.15pm on 24 May – the day before his body was found by a passer-by in Thor Court opposite Keilor cemetery.
He spent time by himself at a hotel in Weston Street then left just after 5.20pm, investigators say.
Police today released CCTV footage of Strike walking east on Weston Street about 5.30pm.
Detective Inspector Michael Hughes, of the Homicide Squad, said Mr Strike’s presence in Brunswick was “out of character”.
“The warrant today will hopefully assist with our investigation as we do believe that Michael visited the Bandidos clubhouse shortly after he is seen walking down Weston Street on the CCTV.
“Investigators have not been able to account for Michael’s whereabouts after this time.”
Detective Hughes said Strike was not a Bandidos member but it was being investigated whether he was associated with “anyone who is part of an outlaw motorcycle gang”.
