Bells ring out for birthday

Dandenong Evening VIEW Club committee members Dorothy Parisse, Dianne Black, Gunta Delvers and Beryl Smith cut the 29th birthday cake.

COWBELLS rang out the Austrian classic Edelweiss at Dandenong Evening VIEW Club’s birthday party.
The Voice Interests and Education of Women (VIEW) club celebrated its 29th birthday at its March meeting with a cake and performance from the Austrian Dancing Group in traditional costumes.
“We also very much enjoyed the very popular song Edelweiss played with cow bells,” the club’s publicity officer Brigitte Billimoria said.
“The evening was a great success and stirred up pleasant memories in some club members.
“Many members dressed in red and white, which are the colours of the Austrian flag, and so created a wonderful atmosphere.
“Even the Dandenong RSL, where the meeting was held, joined in by serving delicious schnitzels for dinner.”
VIEW supports The Smith Family with funds and volunteers to help children in need to reach their full potential through education.
“We are always looking for women from all backgrounds and ages to join us,” Ms Billimoria said.
“Growing our membership is really important to VIEW so we can continue our volunteer work with The Smith Family and support more local children and families.”
