A DANDENONG business is helping to deliver dignity – one shower at a time.
Ventura fleet and maintenance general manager Michael Hourn on Wednesday 13 May handed One Voice president and founder Josh Wilkins the keys to a decommissioned bus.
The One Voice team will refit the bus interior over the next six weeks, creating a mobile shower service that will head to the Rosebud, Mt Eliza and McCrae areas during winter.
It will offer homeless people a safe place to shower, brush their teeth and access clothing and hygiene products.
One Voice last year launched its mobile shower service pilot at Rebecca Walk in Batman Park, Melbourne.
About 14 people used the shower each night and their feedback indicated there weren’t enough shower facilities.
