Car fires under police scrutiny

Police are investigating two deliberate car fires, in Noble Park and Dandenong South.
Both vehicles were stolen from neighbouring suburbs and torched using unknown means.
The first occurred about 6.50pm on Monday 17 October and involved a green Nissan coupe stolen from Keysborough earlier that day.
It was dumped outside an address in Whitehaven Crescent, Noble Park, and set alight.
A witness saw two men, described as Islander in appearance and aged between 18 and 20 years old, walking away from the flaming vehicle.
A black Jeep four-wheel drive followed them as they left and its occupants could be connected to the incident.
The second fire occurred in Glasscocks Road, Dandenong South, about 1.35am on Thursday 20 October, and the police were contacted by a member of the public.
The Holden Captiva was stolen on Sunday 7 August from Kirkham Road in Dandenong.
The arsonists left the scene before police arrived. The CFA also attended and extinguished the fire.
