Emergency services were called to Forster Street in Dandenong to reports of a car crash involving a pedestrian at about 2.40pm Monday 30 January.
It is believed police, ambulance and CFA were working at the scene to control the incident but Acting Station Officer Dale Versteegen from Dandenong CFA said reports of a person trapped were not true.
“When we got there, the person was not trapped under the car, she was breathing and conscious and was taken to hospital,” he said.
Police believe a car travelling along Foster Street hit the pedestrian near Mason Street and the male driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, stopped at the scene.
Both the male driver and female pedestrian were taken to hospital for observation.
The exact details surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
