St Anthony’s in Noble Park welcomed its newest students on Thursday 2 February when the prep class of 2017 started its schooling journey.
There were some tears in the morning but they dried up pretty quickly and the children enjoyed their first day of big school.
Teachers at the school said the preps had a wonderful first day learning about their new routines and where things are as well as how to line up.
Then there are lots of opportunities to make new friends.
This year the preps at St Anthony’s will be enjoying their Wellness and Mindfulness Centre where they can practise their own quiet mindfulness and meditation skills and try some yoga stretching.
They can also visit the Doctors’ Office for a check-up in their role play corner and try out some developmental play to grow their language skills.
Star news photographer Rob Carew dropped in on the new students to capture some of the magic of their first day.
