Cash, phone stolen after punching victim

A Dandenong robbery victim suffered a gash to his left eye from a punch to the face.
A passer-by called police after spotting the 27-year-old man in distress at the intersection of McCrae and Walker streets about 10.55pm on Saturday 24 June.
Police arrived to find the man bleeding from his face.
The victim told them a man approached him and asked for a cigarette, and he replied that he didn’t have one.
The attacker threatened to kill him, demanded money and punched him to the face, knocking the victim to the ground.
He stole cash and a mobile phone and ran up McCrae Street.
