Deck the halls and walk into a winter wonderland at Dandenong Market.
It will host a Christmas in July event on Sunday 23 July, complete with decorations, Christmas dishes and a visit from Santa.
Seventeen traders will serve up 20 special dishes just for the day.
There’ll be the traditional in roast turkey, ham and pork, chocolate pudding, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine.
Others will put a modern spin on traditional fare, including turkey and cranberry pizza, turkey kothu roti, seafood kebab and Christmas sushi.
The Grill will serve up a Grinch Burger featuring jalapenos, green chilli sauce and chimichurri mayonnaise on a green bun.
Gingerbread lattes and candy cane juice are among the celebratory beverages on offer.
Santa and carollers singing Christmas classics will stop by from 10am to 3pm, and there’ll be free face painting and Christmas balloons for kids.
The growing celebration is popular with Brits and Americans living in Australia who want to celebrate Christmas in winter.
Dandenong Market general manager Jennifer Hibbs said the day would be light-hearted, fun and festive.
“We love a party and, with the growing popularity of Christmas in July, we couldn’t think of a better way to make the most of the cold July weather,” she said.
“For our Christmas in July celebration, we’re doing what we do best: putting on an amazing spread that blends traditional fare with a multicultural twist!”
