The Greater Dandenong community will take a united stand against family violence on Tuesday 21 November.
The Walk Against Family Violence is now in its fifth year.
Greater Dandenong Council is calling on the community to take part in the walk which will depart from Dandenong Market at 10.30am.
It will make its way through central Dandenong to Harmony Square where AFL legend Kevin Sheedy and a survivor advocate will address the crowd.
The With One Voice choir will also perform.
Greater Dandenong CEO John Bennie said the walk’s aim was to raise awareness and promote relationships based on respect and equality between women and men.
“The City of Greater Dandenong is an accredited White Ribbon Workplace and we take our role very seriously,” he said.
“Family violence is a significant problem in Australia. It comes in many forms and no one is immune.
“It can happen to anyone.
“Through education, awareness and advocacy we can all say no to violence against women and be part of this significant social change.”
