Damp dents Park’s chances

RAIN cruelly denied Noble Park first XI victory and a certain Premier League finals’ berth after having Box Hill 5/68 in reply to its total of 201 on Saturday.
Noble quickly gained the ascendancy when Ash Perera picked up a wicket in the second over of the day and another two overs later.
When Damien Fleming got one of the few lbw decisions to go his way, Box Hill was in big trouble at 3/14 off only seven overs. It was soon 4/23 when Fleming picked up his second scalp and 5/39 shortly after when Perera snagged his third.
With Noble right on top, the heavens opened with players coming off the ground after only 25 overs of play.
A finals berth now comes down to the last round with the winner of the Noble Park and Brighton game taking sixth spot on the ladder.
