A SPRINGVALE school is the latest to be connected to a statewide high-speed broadband network.
Springvale Heights Primary School was this week connected to the VicSmart broadband network delivered by the State Government to state schools.
The connection offers a high-speed two-megabit connection that is faster than most home broadband packages.
Education Services Minister Jacinta Allan and Mulgrave MP Daniel Andrews made the announcement this week and said broadband would allow students access to the latest technology.
“Students at Springvale Heights Primary School will benefit immediately from an increase in internet speed and be able to access exciting new learning opportunities, including access to new interactive learning materials and collaboration with students and experts in other schools and around the world,” Mr Andrews said.
Broadband infrastructure provider Telstra revealed it was upgrading more than 700 telephone exchanges across Victoria to enable high-speed internet access for schools.
