TWO star racehorses flown into Mel
bourne this week will be calling Sandown
racecourse home during a compulsory
quarantine period.
South African galloper Greys Inn
arrived in Melbourne last Friday and was
floated to the quarantine station immediate
ly.
Greys Inn will have his first Australian
appearance in the Group 1 $402,000 Yalum
ba Stakes at Caulfield on 8 October.
English superstar Carte Diamond
arrived on Tuesday night, after being
delayed 12 hours after an airline mix-up.
Carte Diamond will start in the
Caulfield Cup and has also been entered
into the $5.1 million Melbourne Cup.
The four-year-old gelding earned a start
in the Caulfield Cup by finishing second
behind highly promising stayer Sergeant
Cecil in the 2796-metre Ebor Handicap at
York, Britain, in August.
Sandown is the designated home |
