RESIDENTS have lashed-out at plans to establish three two-storey units in Noble Park, fearing water pressure could diminish.
A petition was received by the council at its December meeting after 43 residents surrounding Guild Avenue, Noble Park, objected to the proposed development.
Springvale North Ward councillor Alan Gordon tabled the petition and this week said there would be a consultation meeting late January for concerns to be heard.
Cr Gordon said so far issues centred on water pressure and service supply.
“At the moment I can’t say much but looking at residents’ concerns they include traffic, and services to the area, such as water and sewerage.
“All of the extra houses on the single blocks could be putting pressure on residents’ own services.
“Some who have been here for many years have said the water pressure has dwindled down because of houses being put on blocks.”
Cr Gordon said a nearby child care centre in Ellt Crescent had already generated high traffic volumes along the street.
