THE Eid-Ul-Adha Festival celebrating Greater Dandenong’s Turkish-Islamic community is being held this Saturday at the Keysborough Turkish-Islamic Cultural Centre, Greens Road, Keysborough.
The day will commence at 1pm and end about 11.30pm with rides, food, and cultural entertainment to celebrate the recent Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca at a local level.
The Greater Dandenong Race Day, hosted by the chamber of commerce, is set to take place at Sandown Racecourse on Saturday, 21 January.
The day will be organised in conjunction with the Melbourne Racing Club, and residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a day at the races with free entertainment for children.
Residents living in Greater Dandenong postcodes 3171 and 3175 will have the opportunity to partake in special admission prices, including a two-for-one offer, $30 entry for a group of 10 people, and a free race book to the first 250 people through the gates who present proof of postcode.
