ARTWORK stretching six storeys high is being projected nightly on to the side of a dull grey building as part of a lighting project in central Dandenong.
The Department of Human Services building in Thomas Street is one of two projections in Dandenong as part of a street lighting and night-time beautification project.
The other projection is opposite the Drum Theatre in a vacant shopfront.
Internationally renowned projection artist Ian De Gruchy created the large artwork using images in a 15-minute scrolling sequence.
Local themes such as the Dandenong Market tell a visual story to pedestrians and passing motorists.
The projections are just two elements of a council-driven lighting and artwork project.
Two walking tours of Dandenong have been offered to residents to showcase a number of small lighting improvements, such as ambient blue strips on traditional street lights seen throughout central Dandenong.
