Noble Park needs to lift

NOBLE Park Cricket Club 1st XI has a tough task ahead to win their third game of the season as they allowed Brunswick to amass a formidable 9/278 on Saturday.
It was a hard day at the office for the Noble Park bowlers, who were without Kynan Ford, as Brunswick reached 3/122 off 42 overs at tea.
After tea it was more of the same with the Brunswick batsmen taking advantage of the short straight boundaries as the total passed 200 with the loss of only four wickets.
After 70 overs the total was 4/231 and a 300 plus total looked very likely, but four wickets in three overs saw Noble get back in the game.
When the ninth wicket fell in the 75th over, the score was 246. Another 32 runs were added without loss for the last wicket for Brunswick to reach 9/278 at stumps.
Steve Croft took his fourth five-wicket plus haul, finishing with 6/94 off a marathon 28 overs, with Andrew Berman, Matt Crozier and Mark Rendle all picking up one wicket each.
The 2nd XI reached 9/216 in its game against Brunswick. Sixteen-year-old Dane Rogers fell just short of his first ton, dismissed for 95 with Paul O’Meara contributing 52.
The 3rd XI dismissed Kingston Saints for 192. Lyle D’Rozario took 3/31 with Danny Ekanayake (2/10) and Andrew Dennis (2/42) providing support.
The 4th XI amassed a record 339 against Kingston Saints with centuries to Michael Martindale (134) and James Goodall (113).
