GREATER Dandenong residents can now reclaim rental bonds online to make moving home a much quicker process.
Mulgrave MP Daniel Andrews announced the new online service this week, available through the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority.
“This fantastic new service saves tenants and landlords time because the forms are completed online using data held by the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority,” he said.
“Moving home can be a stressful time so this new service will make bond refunds a simpler process for everyone.”
Mr Andrews said the RTBA still required some signed forms to validate the original bond form with the claim.
The Victorian Residential Tenancies Act requires all bonds on residential properties to be lodged with the RTBA.
As of 31 December 2005, the RTBA held 360,887 bonds totalling $340 million.
