They care, in a big way

By Shaun Inguanzo
WE CARE Community Services has reached a milestone 10 years of providing Christmas cheer for some of Greater Dandenong’s neediest families.
This weekend its volunteers will again conduct their Helping Hand event where they will give free food, clothes and toys to Greater Dandenong’s poorest families – in Dandenong North.
Volunteers will continue to spread the cheer to other suburbs including Noble Park and Springvale at later dates.
We Care spokesman Lino D’Costa said the organisation was expecting up to 800 people to attend the Faith! Christian Church this Saturday between 10am and 1pm for the handout.
“As struggling individuals and families receive tangible goods for free, hope is often renewed in hearts, and lives are touched,” he said.
“In addition to this main event, Helping Hand events will be held over a three-week period in association with churches in other locations including Noble Park, Springvale, central Dandenong, Cranbourne, Oakleigh, Croydon, Mooroolbark and Lake Tyres.”
