ANZAC Day services will take place across Greater Dandenong this month to commemorate those who served and died for the nation.
On Friday 25 April the Dandenong RSL will host its dawn service at 6am at the Pillars of Freedom along Clow Street. It will include the laying of wreaths and music from the City of Greater Dandenong band.
A march and subsequent service will take place at 10.30am with guest speakers Greater Dandenong mayor John Kelly and Royal Australian Navy commander John Cowan.
A service will also be held at 1pm on 23 April at the Endeavour Hills Memorial on Heatherton Road, Endeavour Hills. Local schools will be involved.
Anyone wishing to lay a wreath at any service should contact Dandenong RSL secretary John Laughton on 9792 1535 by Monday 14 April.
Meanwhile, Noble Park RSL will hold a service on Sunday 20 April, beginning with a march at 10.30am to the RSL from the far end of Railway Parade. At 11am, the club will hold a service at Memorial Park., located outside its building.
Afterwards members and guests are invited back for refreshments.
