Lights show adds up to art

RENOWNED projectionist Ian De Gruchy will light up Dandenong’s Department of Human Services Building in October.
Residents can preview the various artistic patterns that will be cast onto the eight-storey tall building in Thomas Street by visiting the Drum Theatre and Town Hall.
The Drum is hosting prints of the projections and Mr De Gruchy was on hand this week to launch the project.
The Thomas Street projections will be a combination of De Gruchy’s trademark geometric designs mixed with Dandenong-inspired images.
The City of Greater Dandenong council said in a statement that the projections would begin on 1 October.
