MACQUARIE Bank Melbourne chairman Simon McKeon will return to Dandenong Primary School next week to inspire local students to success.
As part of the seventh annual Back to School campaign run by the Education Foundation Australia, Mr McKeon will return to Dandenong Primary School on Monday 19 May and will address students during school assembly, sharing anecdotes of his time at the school and then will attend a special morning tea with staff.
The national Back to School campaign, to be held throughout the month of May, sees former public school students go back to their school to share their stories in order to provide inspiration to current students. In addition, the campaign profiles the success of public education by highlighting the achievements of past students.
Back to School is one of the largest volunteering initiatives in Australian public schools.
More than 2000 schools across the country have participated in Back to School over the past six years.
More than 6500 former students have returned to their schools to inspire an estimated half a million young people.
