GREATER Dandenong Council has agreed to allow residents of Keys Road to decide the road’s future.
Last week Star reported that residents of Keys Road in Keysborough South would be given three options regarding the sealing of the dirt road.
Keysborough South Ward councillor Peter Brown said residents could choose to have it resealed as a one-way street with traffic allowed to travel East to Perry Road at the cost of $300,000 to council; have it sealed as a two-way road at the cost of more than $2 million, which would require external funding and contributions from residents; or leave it as a dirt track.
At Monday night’s council meeting the council agreed to commence a consultation period with the road’s residents to determine which option they favour.
