Child centre upgrades

CHILDCARE centres and kindergartens in Lyndhurst have received more than $160,000 in State Government upgrade grants.
Lyndhurst MP Tim Holding announced the funding this week and added that the Greater Dandenong council would receive $100,000 as part of ongoing maintenance to childhood services in the region.
The Keysborough Freedom Club, which provides low-cost occasional child care, will receive $85,229 for building renovations.
The Hampton Park Care Group, an after-hours child care centre, which will receive $50,000 to replace playground equipment and to upgrade the playground surface from tanbark to a safer synthetic material.
Regans Road Kindergarten in Hampton Park will receive $32,500 to develop a safer and higher quality outdoor learning environment.
“These grants will go a long way to improving childhood services in our area,” Mr Holding said.
“Coupled with the additional grants to the City of Greater Dandenong, childhood services working with local communities are going to be in good shape in years to come.”
