TWO Dandenong boys were awarded certificates from the City of Greater Dandenong on Tuesday for their heroic efforts that saved lives earlier this year.
Dandenong High School students Stephen Parry, 12, and Joshua Denholm, 13, were named Junior 000 Heroes after they dialled 000 in an emergency.
Greater Dandenong mayor Maria Sampey awarded the certificates of appreciation on behalf of the council in recognition of their unselfish acts of bravery.
This was the boys’ second certificate this year.
They were awarded Triple 0 Hero certificates at a ceremony hosted by Police Minister Tim Holding and Olympic gold medallist James Tomkins in June.
Stephen was recognised for his actions in saving the lives of his mother, who has epilepsy, and stepfather, who has diabetes, after they had simultaneous seizures in their sleep.
Joshua helped save an elderly woman suffering an asthma attack while he was on his way to school by holding her head up and placing an oxygen mask over her face.
