MARALINGA Primary School honoured the hard work of its teachers this week with a special celebration.
World Teachers’ Day was officially held on 26 October, but the Keysborough primary school delayed celebrations until Monday due to school swimming carnival commitments.
Principal Peter Gray said it was worth the wait with students presenting gifts of appreciation to teachers at Monday’s assembly, and non-teaching staff cooking a lunch for teachers and offering to do their yard duties on the Tuesday.
Mr Gray said Maralinga had a strong culture of recognising good work, not only of students but of all its staff, including non-teaching and support staff.
He said teachers received appreciation and recognition for their work all year, but this week was a special celebration.
