FIREFIGHTERS saved a Noble Park house from the same fate that befell its garage on the weekend.
Springvale and Noble Park CFA crews were called to a garage fire in Corrigan Rd, Noble Park, at 12.45am on Easter Sunday.
Firefighters said the garage was well alight when they arrived and their immediate concern was stopping it from spreading to the adjoining house.
They described the flames as “lapping out” on to the eaves of the house – but because the windows did not shatter, the fire did not spread.
No-one was injured and firefighters promptly extinguished the fire but the garage was gutted. The cause is still being investigated.
