ONE of three Staffordshire bull terrier pups stolen from a Keysborough breeder last week has been reunited with its owner.
But Keybsorough’s Donna Treadwell still fears for the wellbeing of the other two pups after seeing the emotional distress her white nine-week-old pup Ice displayed after her return last week.
Star reported earlier this month that the pups had been stolen overnight on Saturday 6 October from the Kirribilli Avenue property as they slept in a pen separated from their mother.
Ms Treadwell said at the time that the theft appeared to have been carried out by someone who knew the pups were in the house, because her dogs did not bark.
This week she maintained her theory after a neighbour witnessed a maroon Holden VT Commodore dumping the white puppy on the nature strip outside Ms Treadwell’s house on Wednesday night at 8pm.
“They must have known where I lived to have done that,” she said.
Ice was reunited with mother Ravin, who was still distressed as she appeared to be looking for her other two pups, Laila and Spud.
Ms Treadwell said the week and a half in the thief’s care had left an unwanted impression on Ice, who was now flinching at sudden movements and became incredibly distressed when placed in a vehicle.
“It took a few days before her personality shone through again,” Ms Treadwell said.
But Ice’s reaction to being puppy-napped has left Ms Treadwell fearing for the emotional wellbeing of Laila and Spud.
“I am worried that the longer the others are away, the more damage is being done to them,” she said.
“I just wish that whoever had got them would just bring them back or take them to the police station.”
Anyone with information about Laila and Spud should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or Ms Treadwell on 0433 626 723.
