THE beneficiaries of Greater Dandenong’s 2007 Mayoral Charity Ball were dancing with delight this week as mayor Youhorn Chea presented each with healthy sums of money.
Cr Chea said a total of $8000 was raised at the ball earlier this year for four charities.
Those charities included Joey’s Van, Dandenong and District Benevolent Society, Springvale Benevolent Society and Alzheimers Australia.
At a ceremony at the Springvale council office this week, Cr Chea presented cheques of $2000 to each of the four charities.
Cr Chea said he was delighted with the result of the mayoral ball.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved in making the 2007 Mayoral Charity Ball such a success – from those organising the event to our generous sponsors, and of course, everyone who came along and enjoyed the night,” Cr Chea said.
“It’s extremely satisfying to see such a positive result.”
