NOBLE Park will be the subject of a $30,000 professional documentary created by a former resident turned filmmaker.
And the avid moving picture artist is calling for the community to be a part of it.
Natalie Vella, 33, is a born and bred Noble Park girl and says she wants to use her filmmaking skills to place ‘unexciting’ Noble Park on the map.
To help her in her quest, Ms Vella is calling on Noble Park businesses to sponsor the film to help her raise the estimated $30,000 she will need to professionally document and produce it.
Ms Vella has also appealed to the community to provide videos, pictures and old maps of the suburb to help her document Noble Park.
Ms Vella said she planned on showing the currently untitled film at major independent film festivals around the world.
She has been inspired to make a film about her home turf after spending six months in Paris with experienced director Anna Kannava.
Cypriot national Ms Kannava was nominated for an Australian Screen Directors’ Association award for Best Direction of a First Feature Film for her debut production Dreams for Life.
Ms Vella said she would use Ms Kannava as a mentor throughout the Noble Park production.
She said the film would show stock footage of the Noble Park of her childhood, as well as archived news reports of events both good and bad that occurred in the suburb during that time.
“As much as I say it may include some negative stuff, I don’t want the film to show Noble Park in a negative light,” Ms Vella said.
