MARK Dreyfus was officially declared the Member for Isaacs at a ceremony held last week.
The Australian Electoral Commission declared Mr Dreyfus the Isaacs MP at ceremony in Cheltenham last Friday.
“I am honoured to be elected as the member for Isaacs. It is a humbling experience to have the trust and confidence of people across the electorate,” Mr Dreyfus said.
“As Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has said we will be a government for all Australians and so too I will be the representative of all the people of Isaacs in our national parliament.
“The agenda for the future, which we outlined during the campaign, becomes our agenda for work – the repeal of WorkChoices, the ratification of Kyoto and action on climate change, the focus on education and health.
“I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of the supporters and volunteers who worked on our campaign.”
Mr Dreyfus defeated Liberal candidate Ross Fox at the 24 November Federal Election.
