A NOBLE Park home owner’s attempt to cool down resulted in a devastating fire.
Country Fire Authority (CFA) units from Springvale, Noble Park, Frankston and Keysborough were called to a house in Violet Court at 3.10pm on Sunday 30 December.
Firefighters said the blaze began in a roof-mounted evaporative cooling unit before quickly spreading through the ducts.
“Careful use of water was applied to minimise damage to the contents of each room,” CFA volunteer Keith Pakenham said.
“Although the roof area and one room was gutted, most personal belongings were salvaged.”
