DANDENONG Police are investigating the cause of a campervan fire in Dandenong last week.
Firefighters were called to Ash Grove in Dandenong at 9.10pm on Thursday 13 Decemberwhere they found a campervan parked alongside a house and on fire.
The side of the house was burning as a result of the fire and crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze.
The firefighters donned breathing apparatus to negotiate the tight space between the van and the house.
An elderly man who was inside the house escaped the blaze, and firefighters said they managed to save the house and nearby garage from extensive damage.
The campervan, however, was destroyed.
Detectives from the Crime Investigation Unit are looking into the incident.
