YARRAMAN Park Primary School and Noble Park Secondary College have joined forces for a special buddy program.
The schools recently teamed up to form a Pal Program, which is becoming popular among older and younger students who regularly meet to play games such as dodge ball, soccer and duck, duck, goose.
The program involves grade four and year seven students forming partnerships with children in prep and grade one.
Student teacher Isabelle Sleurent said the program had many benefits for those involved.
“It allows the younger kids to relate to the older ones and break down age barriers,” she said. “It also gives the younger kids more confidence.
Ms Sleurent said the students seemed to be making the most of the program.
“Both participants and leaders are really enjoying it,” she said.
