A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after the rapid work of firefighters to free her from her car wreck in Springvale South last week.
On Thursday 1 November at 10.35pm, a Toyota Corolla sedan travelling south along the Westall Road Extension in Springvale South lost control and rolled over a median strip.
The car then entered oncoming traffic, when it and a Holden Commodore sedan collided.
Firefighters on the scene said the female driver of the Toyota was trapped, and emergency crews blocked the north-bound lanes next to Rowans Road to enable them to work to free her.
After 15 minutes the woman was freed and transported by paramedics to hospital for treatment.
Her daughter, the car’s passenger, escaped with only minor injuries, firefighters said.
