BURDEN Park’s top Victorian Ladies Bowling Association pennant side continued its superior bowls last week, defeating Berwick 102-77 on Tuesday.
The second side combined well and returned to the winners’ list with a solid win over Dandenong Club 111-85.
Newly promoted skipper Barbara Walker had a good first-up win while Lois Eva and her rink scored a big 38-15 win.
The third side faltered last week on the Cranbourne RSL plastic surface, going down 37-66.
The RVBA Saturday Premier side’s winning run came to an end unexpectedly against the winless Melbourne Cricket Club 78-84.
The second side at home was no match for the highly fancied Cheltenham side and was beaten 73-95.
The third side notched up their third win from four matches, with a sound all-rinks defeat of Dandenong Club 108-71.
Alan Hendry (s), Ron Ellis, Andy McQueen and lead Pat McInerney were the big winners 33-17.
The fourth side continued its form by defeating Dandenong Club 96-92.
Campbell Faulds’ rink was the best in a good result, winning 37-21.
Burden Park’s fifth side continued to struggle and lost to Beaumaris 82-105. The sixth side had the bye.
The seventh side, playing away and strengthened by two new bowlers, lost to Ferntree Gully 53-78.
