THE cream of the virtual guitarist crop has been found at Parkmore Shopping Centre.
Early this month, Star reported that fans of the popular video game Guitar Hero III had flocked to the centre in Keysborough during the school holidays to take part in the Legends of Rock tournament.
Players use a plastic guitar with buttons on the neck that they pressed in time with the colours on screen to play along to their favourite rock tunes.
The effect mimics playing a real guitar.
The tournament’s winner, Michael, won a Nintendo Wii console with Guitar Hero III game, a Wii controller, a Nintendo DS Lite handheld console with the Guitar Hero On Tour game, and Guitar Hero bag – a package worth almost $1000.
Runner-up Elsa won a Wii console valued at $400, while third-placed Nick won a $25 Parkmore Gift Card.
