A MAN was taken to hospital after the car he was driving slammed into a power pole in Keysborough last week.
The Holden Commodore was travelling along Grayling Crescent in Keysborough at 12.30pm on 20 August when it hit a timber power pole.
Firefighters who responded to the scene said the power pole had snapped at the base and was suspended by the lines.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment while power company crews arrived and repaired the pole within three hours.
Springvale Fire Brigade responded and together with police secured the area, while police were also kept busy directing traffic at intersections after traffic lights failed.
