POLICE say the badly burnt human remains found in Keysborough belonged to an Asian woman, approximately 160cm tall.
Homicide Squad detectives are still investigating the death after a cleaner discovered the burnt remains in a dumpster in Keysborough on Sunday 14 September.
CFA crews were called to the scene after a cleaner arrived at work to find a bin on fire at the rear of a shop on Cheltenham Road shortly before 6am.
Upon extinguishing the fire, members discovered the badly burnt remains of what was believed to be a human body. Subsequent tests confirmed the remains to be human, however the body has yet to be identified.
Police are now awaiting pathologist results and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
