POLICE are investigating how a driver slammed his car into the side of a Dandenong North unit last week.
Police said the driver, 24, was driving east in Saintsbury Crescent at 10.10pm on Thursday 25 September when he lost control of his car, hit a gutter, followed by a power pole, street sign and fence, before then hitting the side of a unit in Rawdon Hill Drive.
Due to the force of the impact, supporting beams of the unit were broken.
A brick wall and window of the empty bedroom were damaged in the incident.
Police said three people were in the house at the time of the crash, including two adults and a four-year-old child, but nobody was injured.
Police said the driver was taken to Dandenong Hospital for treatment.
The car was left embedded in the house that night, until structural damage was fully assessed.
