RESIDENTS are invited to comment on the City of Greater Dandenong’s draft strategy on its public parks and reserves.
The strategy looks at the future of parks and reserves in the city for the next 10 years.
Planning and design manager Jody Bosman said the council had completed comprehensive community consultation, including more than 500 surveys.
He said the information obtained from the surveys, completed this year, had been used to help develop the strategy.
“The responses to the survey showed the importance of parks and reserves to Greater Dandenong residents,” Mr Bosman said.
“They nominated large open spaces, close proximity to home, playgrounds and trees as their best features.”
Mr Bosman said the council was now seeking community feedback on the draft strategy.
The council will also hold two community meetings to discuss the draft strategy on 2 and 4 December 2008.
Comments on the strategy are invited by Monday, 12 January 2009.
