DANDENONG singer Gabriella Cilmi has disappointed fans by cancelling her only concert in Melbourne so she can appear on television in Germany.
The Frontier Touring Company announced on Tuesday that the 17-year-old songbird was pulling out of the 7 December show due to a “major’” TV appearance to be recorded the following night in Germany.
In a statement released by Frontier Touring Company Gabriella is said to be “crushed” by the decision.
“Gabriella will return to her hometown in the new year with a new all ages concert date with The Cat Empire at Hisense Arena on Sunday 1 February 2009 as part of Tennis Australia’s entertainment program,” the statement said.
“Both Gabriella and Frontier regret any disappointment that may have been caused by this cancellation.”
Gabriella’s performance at Homebush in Sydney during December will not be affected.
Ticket holders for the Melbourne concert have been advised to get refunds from the original place of purchase.
