THERE was a happy ending for the family of a missing elderly Springvale man after he was found yesterday morning (Wednesday) walking along Cayley Road, Keysborough.
Chao Hseih, 91, had not been seen since Monday lunchtime, with his family holding grave concerns.
Mr Hseih was dropped off at the Springvale Shopping Centre during the morning by his son, and was last seen by his daughter around lunchtime at a restaurant in Springvale.
His son Kelvin Ta said Mr Hseih normally followed the same routine each day and would catch a bus back to his Keysborough home before dark.
But when he did not arrive home by 9pm Monday night they raised the alarm.
It is believed that Mr Hseih returned home at some time during the day before heading out again, as his wallet and watch, all things he had on him in the morning were left behind. It is believed he was wearing pyjamas.
“His wallet, watch and all of those things he normally carried are in the house,” Mr Ta said on Tuesday.
“When my brother arrived home he noticed the door was wide open with the lights off and our father nowhere in sight.
“We are all very worried.”
Acting Senior Sergeant Darren Waterfall said police worked with the SES to search areas around Keysborough and Springvale.
