A NEW website will give residents in the south east vital information about issues affecting local roads.
The website, by Roadsafety for Outer South East (ROSE), will promote community activities and programs, provide resources for local issues and list up-to-date data about road safety issues.
“These will include crash information, legislate changes, road rules, local issues, upcoming events and anything to do with safety,” ROSE chairperson Dreena Lawrence-Gray said.
The site will also have links to the CFA website to provide information about townships affected by bushfires.
This is the first website launched by ROSE, which is the community road safety council dedicated to reducing the road toll in the municipalities of Cardinia, Casey and City of Greater Dandenong.
ROSE has been running for 20 years and aims to do this by working in partnership with local and state government, local businesses and community members.
Ms Lawrence-Gray said she hoped the website, which took 18 months to complete, would raise driving and safety awareness among residents in the south east.
She also hoped it would increase ROSE’s profile.
“We are always looking for more members to hear what they have to say about things happening in the area and to help us write and deliver our programs,” she said.
To become a member or check out the site, visit www.roadsafeoutersoutheast.com.au.
ROSE runs in partnership with VicRoads, Victoria Police, CFA and representatives from the Shire of Cardinia, City of Casey and City of Greater Dandenong.
