YOUNG people in the City of Dandenong are using the summer holidays to learn something different, meet new people and have fun while doing so.
The January Summer Vibes Holiday Program for people aged between 12 and 25 began on Monday with a make-up workshop at the Dandenong Library.
The activity gave young women the opportunity to learn all the secrets of “looking the part” for their next social event.
The Dandenong Library will host an array of events including hip-hop dancing, Xbox games competitions and drawing.
The council’s Young Leaders’ Program has organised a beach volleyball tournament on 20 January and a basketball tournament on 21 January from noon until 5pm.
Both events will be held at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium and State Volleyball Centre, at 270 Stud Road.
Other activities include indoor soccer which will be held on 22 January at Springers Leisure Centre, 200 Cheltenham Road, Keysborough, from noon until 6pm.
Young people can also sit back and relax with friends at the Y-Space, which opened at Cafe Salvos in Noble Park on 12 January.
For a copy of the Summer Vibes Calendar or to book please call Greater Dandenong Youth Services on 9793 2155.
