Set for thrilling finish as finals loom- Chris Pasnin and Springvale South are still scamperin

By Gavin Staindl
BERWICK is set to take out the minor premiership in the Dandenong and District Cricket Association Turf One grade – but the final day of round 10 has set up a tantalising final round next week. Six teams remain in the hunt for the remaining three finals spots in Turf One cricket while HSD and Lyndale battle for the last remaining place in Turf Two.

@BT Sub Sport News:Springvale South d St Mary’s

Springvale South has cruised to a six-wicket victory over St Mary’s at Carroll Reserve.
Andrew King (36) and Steve Masterson (9) were in no hurry to reach the required 79 and they trundled to 77 off 22 overs before Roshan Perera (10) hit the winning runs.
The fourth placed Springvale South has to win against bottom side Coomoora to make finals but a loss will open up the possibility for other teams to jump into fourth position.

@BT Sub Sport News:Buckley Ridges d North Dandenong

When Buckley Ridges’ Daniel Watson had the two openers back in the Park Oval sheds for three runs, North Dandenong’s hopes of chasing down 346 were all but shot.
Watson (6/40) tore through the North Dandenong line-up and, despite stabilising innings from Chris Clarke (37) and Shane Clark (30), North Dandenong fell to 186.
North Dandenong must now wait on other games to fall their way if they wish to play finals while a big Buckley Ridges win next week will secure a finals berth for the Ridges.

@BT Sub Sport News:Parkfield d Keysborough

Parkfield has given itself the best chance of qualifying for finals after beating Keysborough by 54 runs at Keysborough Reserve.
Five wickets to Parkfield opener Mark Butters (5/35) was the main reason behind Keysborough’s hapless effort of 97 while Shane Doig (3/32) also chipped in to finish off the tail.
A Parkfield win next round against Buckley Ridges will be enough to guarantee Parkfield a finals appearance and a shot at defending the title earned last year.

@BT Sub Sport News:Mordialloc d Coomoora

It will be a solemn place this week at Coomoora Reserve as Coomoora face the reality of being relegated to Turf Two after they again came up short – this time against Mordialloc.
Needing 240 to keep their season alive, Coomoora began well with Justin Woodman (12) and Bilal Zeitoune (22) hitting off to a 43-run opening partnership but five wickets to Travis Campbell (5/39) produced a 9/58 run collapse that has all but ruined the season for the home team.
