YOUNG people in the City of Greater Dandenong will have the chance to take part in a program aimed to develop and enhance their leadership skills.
Facilitated by council’s Youth Services, the Young Leaders Program provides opportunities for young people, aged between 16 and 25, to be inspired, develop leadership skills, share experiences and have fun.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Jim Memeti said the program would teach participants the skills needed to develop and implement a project in their community.
“Program participants will develop skills in public speaking, project management, funding applications, networking and evaluations,” he said.
“The skills they learn will stand them in good stead for the future. This is a great opportunity for young people to make a difference in their local community.”
The Young Leaders Program begins on Wednesday, 24 March and will run every Wednesday from 5.40pm to 8pm.
Applications close on 22 March.
