DANDENONG residents will enjoy being fit and healthy with the launch of the City of Greater Dandenong Community Wellbeing Plan 2010-2013 this month.
The plan promotes ways residents can lead a healthy lifestyle and the council’s work promoting better health and wellbeing.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Jim Memeti said being part of an active and vibrant community has a positive impact on health.
“It’s really important that we encourage people to be part of their community,” Cr Memeti said.
“Health and wellbeing is not just about exercising and eating right. It’s about creating and living in a safe and inclusive community.”
Greater Dandenong’s Community Wellbeing Plan was developed with the help of more than 1700 residents, service agencies, organisations and council staff.
“This is not something we can achieve on our own. It is so important that we join together to make Greater Dandenong a healthier and happier place to live,” Cr Memeti said.
