Streets alive with festive cheer

CHRISTMAS will come alive in Central Dandenong next week, with a range of roving entertainers lined up to provide enjoyment for all ages.
The Dande-nong Retail Traders’ Association (DRTA), with support fromthe City of Greater Dandenong, has arranged free entertainment in the area from 11.30am to 1.30pm from Friday 17, Saturday 18, Tuesday 21 and Friday 24 December.
On 17 Decemberthe ‘Singing Christmas Tree’ will entertain,’Flip and Flop Christ-mas Elves’ will appear on 18 December, and a trio of lounge singers and a giant Christmas elfwill feature on 21 December.
The Jen Hawley Duo, Christmas tree and clown stilt walkers, and the Christmas Elf will be the roving entertainment on Christmas Eve.
“Annual entertainment has proven popular with shoppers as they go about their Christmas shopping,” DRTA chairman Roy Aspinall said.
“We appreciate the support of the City of Greater Dandenong and it adds so much to the general feeling of goodwill in what is the state’s largest shopping precinct outside of Melbourne Central”.
